Speeding away in a Porsche: restaurateur in court

Shaken or stirred, but definitely ice-cold: a restaurateur from Mühlviertel (47) allegedly sped away from the police on the S10 in a Porsche at the end of February. That is why he is on trial in Linz today. So far he has denied driving his car.

A plainclothes patrol pursued the lead foot, but lost him. However, the officers caught the "racer" in the Freistadt district shortly afterwards. Then the charges piled up: 23 administrative and one criminal offense, driving license confiscated.

Today, Wednesday, the restaurateur has to answer to the Linz regional court for three counts of coercion and endangering physical safety. So far, he claims not to have been at the wheel of the Porsche himself.
