Rolls over after jumping out of a falling truck

Dramatic truck crash on Wednesday afternoon in Tyrol: the driver tried to save himself by jumping out of the vehicle in Fieberbrunn, but unfortunately this had serious consequences.

At around 3.40 pm, the local driver (29) was driving a truck and trailer on a forest road near the Fritzalm when he left the road during a turning maneuver.

50-meter crash
The vehicle and trailer then plunged around 50 meters and only came to a halt at the next bend. The man jumped out of the driver's cab during the crash and was run over. He sustained serious injuries as a result.

The passenger set the rescue chain in motion and provided first aid to the injured driver.

The co-driver, a local man (53), remained in the truck during the crash and survived the accident unharmed. The co-driver set the rescue chain in motion and provided first aid to the injured driver.

Mountain rescue and helicopter in action
The alerted Fieberbrunn mountain rescue team treated the worker at the scene of the accident and after receiving emergency medical treatment, he was flown to St. Johann Hospital by the C4 emergency helicopter. The accident caused considerable damage to the vehicle combination.
