Drunken night ends in a cell for CL referees

Bartosz Frankowski and Tomasz Musal were supposed to be the VAR referees for the Champions League qualifier between Dynamo Kiev and Glasgow Rangers, but their stay in Lublin ended not in the stadium but in a drunk tank.

On Tuesday night, a passer-by called the police after observing the Poles stealing a traffic sign. The subsequent alcohol test is said to have revealed a level of over 1.7 per mille, and Frankowski and Musal ended up in the drunk tank with another person; they are also being investigated for destroying traffic infrastructure.

VAR referees replaced
UEFA removed the referees from the match, and it is quite possible that the contracts of the referees will be terminated. The match between Kiev and Glasgow ended 1:1 and remained unexciting for long stretches - something that cannot be said of the two referees' party night ...
