Several drivers pulled out of traffic

The Vorarlberg traffic police carried out numerous checks around the Szene Openair in Lustenau between Thursday and Sunday. 21 drivers impaired by narcotics and 13 impaired by alcohol were taken off the road. In 26 cases, narcotics were seized and the owners reported to the police.

However, the checks carried out by the police were not limited to alcohol and drugs. Driving licenses, vehicle documents and the vehicles were also scrutinized. There were three cases in which the drivers were not in possession of a valid driver's license. Last but not least, the officers also caught five drivers whose vehicles did not meet the technical standards. The license plates were removed on the spot.

High fines
At the same time, the traffic police officers took the opportunity to remind everyone that driving under the influence of drugs also endangers other road users. The police will therefore continue to focus on this issue. Anyone who drives or operates a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and/or narcotics risks an administrative fine of between 800 and 3700 euros and the withdrawal of their driving license.
