E-scooter driver left pensioner lying on the ground

Conflict situations involving electric two-wheelers occur time and again on Vorarlberg's roads. This was also the case on Monday morning in Feldkirch.

A 76-year-old man was riding his e-bike on Fidelistraße in the direction of the Levis district when an e-scooter rider behind him started an overtaking maneuver. However, this went badly wrong: the e-scooter driver hit the cyclist on the left shoulder, causing the man to fall. On impact, he suffered various injuries to his knee, elbow and shoulder.

Three boys, who presumably witnessed the incident, immediately rushed to the pensioner's aid. The 76-year-old was ultimately very lucky, he was spared any serious injuries and did not require medical treatment.

However, the e-scooter driver did not show any empathy at all: Instead of looking after the man lying on the ground, he made off. The friendly young people and anyone else who can provide information about the incident are asked to contact the Feldkirch police station.
