A seductive contact via a messenger service, exchange of hot pictures and videos and then disillusionment: a Villach man fell for a perfidious scammer.

Fraudsters ruthlessly exploit people's loneliness on the Internet. This is what happened to a 54-year-old man from Villach. He had made erotic contact via a messenger service. "In the course of sexual communication, photos and videos were sent by both parties," explained the police. 

But then came the rude awakening: the unknown perpetrator began demanding gift cards. "If they didn't comply, he threatened to send photos and videos to family and friends," the police continued. Panicked, the man complied with the demands and suffered several thousand euros worth of damage.
