Large-scale power failure in the mountain regions

On Tuesday afternoon, there was a widespread power outage in the Salzburg mountain regions. The reason was a technical fault in a substation. There was no power for around half an hour.

At around 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, there was no power in Pinzgau and Lungau as well as in large parts of Pongau. The reason for this was a technical fault in the Kaprun substation. A 380/110 kv transformer failed. APG and Salzburg AG were able to repair the damage relatively quickly.

According to Krone readers, the power was out for around 30 minutes. The power outage only lasted longer in some municipalities. At around 5.45 pm, almost all households were supplied with electricity again. At its peak, 120,000 households were affected by the power cut.
