The Mörbisch fire department had to rescue three people who were in distress due to the storm on Lake Neusiedl. 

The thunderstorms on Friday evening once again surprised some people who were out and about on Lake Neusiedl at the time. In two cases, the Mörbisch am See fire department had to be called out to rescue people.

Stand-up paddler in distress
The firefighters were alerted by the regional safety center that two stand-up paddlers were in distress due to the storm between Mörbisch and Illmitz. The emergency services immediately set off with the fire boat to rescue the two. 

Hobby fishermen surprised by storm
"During the operation, a small inflatable boat with a hobby fisherman on board was also spotted, which was caught by the storm and drifted from Mörbisch to just before Illmitz," reports the fire department.

All three people were taken on board and brought safely to the harbor in Mörbisch.
