Brazen thieves steal in Innsbruck and Schwaz

There were several cases of shoplifting in Tyrol on Thursday and Friday. The perpetrators are known in one case and unknown in two others. Searches were unsuccessful. Violence was used against a detective.

The first theft occurred in Schwaz on Thursday: at 5.17 p.m., an unknown person stole a total of eleven packs of perfume from a shopping center with a total value in the high three-digit euro range. The following day, the shopping center was the victim of another theft: this time, a pair of thieves stole seven packs of perfume at 12:45 p.m., causing damage running into the thousands.

The thefts were only noticed late and only reported after the video surveillance was viewed. The manhunt was unsuccessful.

Use of force against a detective
There was also a shoplifting incident in Innsbruck on Friday. The scene of the crime this time was a grocery store in Reichenau. The thieves are known: They are a Romanian man (39) and his 21-year-old companion. They had stolen goods and fled in a car, using violence against the store detective.

But they had not reckoned with the detective: he knew the woman - in the end, both were arrested.
