Cyclist rammed by car in Tyrol – serious fall

Serious traffic accident on Monday in the Tyrolean Ötztal: a cyclist (65) was literally "shot down" by a car. The local man crashed and sustained serious injuries.

The fatal accident happened around midday in the municipality of Sölden. A 40-year-old Romanian was driving his car on the B186 Ötztalstraße and wanted to turn left into a parking lot.

Cyclist overlooked
"The Romanian overlooked the oncoming cyclist," reported the police. The 65-year-old was unable to react in time and a collision occurred. The pensioner fell onto the road.

Taken to the doctor by ambulance
He suffered serious injuries. After first aid at the scene of the accident, the local man was taken to a doctor by ambulance.
