33-year-old woman from Graz crashes with her paraglider

A woman from Graz got stuck upside down and injured in a treetop after a crash with her paraglider in Bruck an der Mur on Saturday. A hiker discovered her and called the emergency services. They were taken to hospital by helicopter.

The 33-year-old woman from Graz is believed to have been paragliding near the Pischkalm in the afternoon. At around 5:00 p.m., a hiker noticed the victim, who was probably stuck upside down in a treetop with her paraglider. He made an emergency call.

After first aid, the woman was taken to Graz West Regional Hospital by the Christophorus 17 rescue helicopter with injuries of indeterminate severity. An alpine policewoman was on duty with eleven members of the Bruck an der Mur and Kapfenberg mountain rescue teams and six members of the Bruck an der Mur volunteer fire department.
