Motorcycle catches fire after head-on crash

Dramatic motorcycle accident in Unterperfuss with three people injured: a biker crossed into the oncoming lane, collided head-on with a car and was thrown to the side of the road, where his motorcycle caught fire. 

The biker (55) was driving up Oberperfer Straße on Saturday and caught up with a car in front of him, which had to drive very slowly because there were cyclists in front of him. During the braking maneuver, the 55-year-old crossed into the oncoming lane, where he collided head-on with an oncoming car.

Bike caught fire
The head-on crash threw him back onto the original lane, where the bike came to rest on the side of the road and caught fire. The motorcyclist as well as the driver (27) and her mother (60), who was also in the car, were seriously injured.

Injured persons taken to hospital
The Kematen and Unterperfuss fire departments were able to extinguish the motorcycle quickly. The three injured people were taken to hospital in Hall by ambulance. The vehicles involved were severely damaged.
