From highway into the bushes: driver (42) trapped
There was a serious traffic accident on the Inntal highway in Unterland on Friday. For unknown reasons, a driver ended up in dense vegetation and had to be rescued by the fire department.
The 42-year-old man was driving a car on the A12 from Kufstein towards Innsbruck at around 11.05 am. In the municipality of Langkampfen, he drove his BMW off the right-hand side of the road for an unknown reason and drove across the grassy area into the bushes, where he collided with a tree.
Trapped in the car
The driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued from the vehicle by the Kufstein fire department and the ambulance service. The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kufstein Hospital by ambulance after first aid.
Traffic backed up to the state border
The vehicle was a total loss. In addition to the police, the Kufstein fire department was also deployed with five vehicles and 20 men, as well as the ambulance service. During the clean-up work, a traffic jam backed up to the Kufstein border.
