Styrian falls from roof during repair work

A serious accident at work occurred in Knittelfeld on Thursday morning: a Styrian man fell around two meters while carrying out repair work on a roof and had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 23-year-old man from Upper Styria was replacing broken roof tiles in Knittelfeld when a rotten rung of the roof truss suddenly broke and the man fell to the ground. Despite being secured by a rope, the man hit the attic. 

The Styrian was first given medical treatment and then rescued by the Knittelfeld fire department using a rescue basket and taken to Judenburg Regional Hospital by the ambulance service. The labor inspectorate was informed of the accident.
