Shoplifting confirms yet another suspicion

From the 17-year-old's point of view, it was just bad luck: because he was caught shoplifting in Innsbruck on Wednesday, another crime he had apparently committed could also be discovered.

At around 3.45 p.m., the 17-year-old local was in a grocery store that was also open on May 1st. There he was stopped by a store detective after the teenager had apparently tried to steal food.

Backpack searched
"In the course of the investigation and further inquiries, several spray cans were found in the Austrian's rucksack", the police said.

The investigators linked this to serious damage to property (graffiti) on a listed building in Innsbruck.

No confession
During initial questioning, however, the 17-year-old did not confess. He will be charged at large.
