Accident in Ebbs
Two injured in head-on collision with bikes
There was a lot going on on the cycle paths in Tyrol on the beautiful 1st of May. Unfortunately, in one case there was a fatal collision.
At around 1 pm, a group consisting of three locals aged 62, 67 and 74 were riding their racing bikes on the cycle path in Ebbs, in the Innsiedlung area, heading west. According to the information available so far, a cyclist (83) came towards them on the left-hand side of the cycle path.
Only one biker managed to swerve
The 74-year-old in front was able to swerve across the grassy area to the right of the cycle path. However, the 67-year-old behind him subsequently collided head-on with the 83-year-old.
Three people crashed
The 62-year-old driving behind the 67-year-old then hit the 67-year-old. All three people involved crashed. Passers-by immediately provided first aid. The 83-year-old was taken to hospital in Kufstein with serious injuries and the 67-year-old with minor injuries.
