Mission for Florianis
Car crashed into emergency call pillar: no trace of the driver
On the B37a in Krems, a car left the road for unknown reasons and collided with an emergency call pillar. The wreck came to rest on its side and there was no trace of the driver.
In the early hours of the morning last weekend, the emergency services from Krems-Süd and Hauptwache fire stations were alerted to a traffic accident on the B37a main road in Krems. On arrival, however, the driver was nowhere to be found. A search in the immediate vicinity was also unsuccessful.
For unknown reasons, the car left the road, crashed into an emergency call pillar mounted in the breakdown bay and came to rest on its side.
Difficult recovery
As there was no trace of the driver, the firefighters concentrated on recovering the wreck. However, the car was so wedged in with the destroyed emergency call pillar that it was not possible to lift it up directly.
The accident vehicle was finally pulled out of the breakdown bay using a cable winch. With combined forces, the Florianis put the car on its wheels and pulled it onto the recovery plateau. The scene of the accident was then cleaned.
