"Had no luck"
Multiple partners? Shakira: “Monogamy is utopian”
Shakira thinks the concept of monogamy is utopian. The 47-year-old pop icon announced her split from footballer Gerard Pique in 2022 after more than a decade of dating. Although the circumstances of the split were anything but easy, according to the singer, Shakira still believes in love.
In an interview with the British edition of "Marie Claire" magazine, she explained: "I can't say that I don't believe in love, because I see the example of my parents after fifty years together. How they can look into each other's eyes and hold hands and not live apart. I've seen love, I just haven't had the luck myself."
For Shakira, "monogamy is a utopia"
Despite her hopes of finding true love, Shakira believes that romantic relationships do not necessarily have to be exclusive. "Monogamy is a utopia," she clarified in the interview.
"But I have a balance in another way, through the love of my fans and my children and my true friends. Oscar Wilde said that friendship is the purest form of love and I see it the same way. It lasts longer - at least in my experience."
New love after break-up with Piqué
After her painful break-up with footballer Gerard Piqué in 2022, the singer is said to have found a new love. In recent weeks, rumors have surfaced that the 47-year-old is dating "Emily in Paris" hottie Lucien Laviscount (31). During the filming of the hot clip for Shakira's latest music video, the spark between Shakira and Lucien Laviscount was said to have been ignited.
