Refurbishment near Haiming
Freeway exits in the Oberland closed due to renovation work
Asfinag is now using the off-season for construction work in the Oberland. The Haiming-Ötztal junction is particularly affected; for the time being, a total closure of the exit is necessary.
Car users in the Oberland must now be prepared for some restrictions: The asphalt at the Haiming-Ötztal junction has to be renewed, making it necessary to close individual ramps from April 29.
At times we will have to use the nearest junctions.
Die Asfinag
Due to limited space and extensive roadway renovations, traffic must be temporarily diverted via the nearest junctions Imst and Mötz and the ramps alternately closed.
Exits closed until May 17, then the ramps
For drivers, this means that both exits will remain closed in both directions until May 17. However, access to the A12 will remain possible in both directions during this time. The detour will be via the neighboring Imst and Mötz-Reutte junctions.
From May 21 to June 7, Asfinag will then close the slip roads at the junction. This year, all of the work is scheduled to be completed by November, with the next stage of the renovation work in this area taking place in 2025.
Use the off-season
Asfinag emphasizes that the work was deliberately scheduled in coordination with the municipalities, state and authorities during the off-season of the Ötztal tourism region and before the opening of the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road. A total of around 33 million euros will be invested in these construction lots this year.
