FSG extends absolute majority, Freedom Party makes gains

The Social Democratic Trade Unionists (FSG) and top candidate Markus Wieser were able to maintain their absolute majority in the Chamber of Labor elections in Lower Austria and even increase it by more than two percentage points to 64%.

The Social Democratic Trade Unionist Group (FSG) scored a clear victory in the Lower Austrian Chamber of Labor elections, increasing its absolute majority to 64% (+2%). "The employees have recognized who has been on their side day after day for five years," said lead candidate Markus Wieser.

Lower voter turnout
The People's Party (NÖAAB-FCG) recorded a drop of 15 percent (most recently at 21.1 percent). The Freedom Workers (FA-FPÖ) increased from 10.3 to 14 percent. A total of six lists fought for 110 seats in the AK General Assembly. Voter turnout was initially 34.5 percent.
