Car driver caused moped driver (16) to fall

A 16-year-old moped rider crashed in a traffic circle in Kalsdorf (district of Graz-Umgebung) on Wednesday morning during an evasive maneuver. A previously unknown car driver disregarded the priority of the moped driver.

At around 5.50 a.m., a 16-year-old moped driver entered the traffic circle on the B67 coming from the south and intended to leave it at the second exit heading north. A car coming from Mooswiesenstraße (L 312) took the right of way from the driver, forcing the 16-year-old to slow down and swerve. The teenager crashed due to the rain-soaked road and was injured. There was no collision between the two vehicles.

The driver of the car drove on in an unknown direction without stopping.

Following drivers provided first aid and informed the emergency services. According to the 16-year-old, it should have been a red car.

Appeal for witnesses
The Kalsdorf bei Graz police station is asking the driver of the unknown vehicle or witnesses to the accident to contact them on 059-133-6142.
