99ers land a freshly crowned champion
The next reinforcement for the 99ers ice hockey club: The team from Graz has announced the signing of Paul Huber. The 23-year-old has a lot of experience and knows how to win. Just last week, the striker won the championship crown with Red Bull Salzburg.
Planning for the coming season is in full swing at the 99ers. With the Graz-born Paul Huber, they have now been able to lure a championship-winning player from Red Bull Salzburg back to the Mur. On the way to the title, the 23-year-old scored three times in the play-offs and contributed an assist. He is also a current team player and was nominated by team manager Roger Bader for the preparation squad for the upcoming World Championship. Huber signed a three-year contract with the 99ers.
"The reason for my move to Graz is that I was looking for a new challenge and wanted a bigger role. Graz has everything I need and after talks with Philipp Pinter and Harry Lange, I was immediately convinced," Huber said in a statement from the club. And is happy about his return. "I'm happy that I can go back home and play in front of these fans in the Bunker again."
"Paul is an absolute top signing for us as 99ers. He's a huge Austrian talent, a power forward who is also capable of scoring. He has developed very well in Salzburg in recent years and has celebrated three championship titles as a result," said sporting director Philipp Pinter, who is also extremely pleased with the signing. "We are delighted that he is returning to his roots and wants to take the next step in his development here."
