Salzburg's captain
Ulmer out for the rest of the season
Bitter news for champions Red Bull Salzburg: the defending Bundesliga champions will have to do without captain Andreas Ulmer for the rest of the season. The 38-year-old has suffered another serious calf injury and will have to take six weeks off.
This is not how Andreas Ulmer had imagined his departure from serial champions FC Red Bull Salzburg!
As the "Krone" already reported, the 38-year-old suffered another calf injury in the 4:2 home win of the Mozartstädter in the Bundesliga against Austria Klagenfurt, which condemned him to weeks of absence.
It is now clear that the Bulls captain will not play again this season. "He will be out for six weeks," the club reported.
No more games in a Bulls jersey for Ulmer
As Salzburg already announced when Ulmer's contract was extended last year that he would be playing his last season for the serial champions, it is also clear that he will no longer be wearing the Bulls jersey as an active player.
It is unclear where the 32-time Austrian team player will play in the coming season. As the "Krone" has learned, the veteran has already held talks with several clubs at home and abroad.
