Large-scale fire department operation in Herrengasse in Graz: smoke in a branch of Bank Austria triggered an alarm on Tuesday morning. However, the situation turned out to be less dramatic than expected.

On Tuesday morning, a large number of emergency vehicles raced through Herrengasse in Graz. The reason: smoke had started to build up in the Bank Austria branch and an alarm was triggered. It was suspected that the roof truss had caught fire, according to the police.

No one was injured
However, the all-clear was given at the scene: the smoke was not as bad as expected and no extinguishing measures had to be carried out. The police also confirmed that no one was injured.
