Almost champions with BVB
New name appears on Bayern’s list of coaches
Bayern want to announce the new coach for the coming season by the beginning of May at the latest. Many names have already been circulating around Säbener Straße, but now a new one has been added: Lucien Favre.
As the German trade journal "kicker" reports, the club bosses are increasingly considering an interim solution in order to be able to sign an absolute dream solution in 2025. This is because next year, Leverkusen champion Xabi Alonso may be available, as well as Jürgen Klopp and Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß.
Interim solution for one year?
According to "kicker", the Munich management could consider Hansi Flick and Lucien Favre as an interim solution for one year. Sports director Max Eberl worked with the Frenchman at Borussia Mönchengladbach from 2011 to 2015, and with great success. In the end, Favre managed to save the team from relegation, which was hardly thought possible, and then led them to the Champions League once and the Europa League twice.
He also almost led Borussia Dortmund to the German championship title in 2019, but despite a nine-point lead at one point, Bayern won the trophy in the end. Favre has been out of work since leaving French club Nice a year ago.
