The driver who caused a hit-and-run accident on the Südbahnstraße in Leoben on Saturday evening has now been identified thanks to numerous tips from the public. The driver is a 42-year-old man from Leoben. He had lost control of his vehicle on a right-hand bend and collided with the car of a 19-year-old woman from Leoben.
The 19-year-old tried to avoid an accident and veered her vehicle onto the right-hand side of the road, but was unable to prevent a collision. Her passenger, also 19 years old, was injured to an indeterminate degree in the accident.
No driving license
The driver was reported to the Leoben public prosecutor's office for negligent bodily injury and failure to render assistance and his vehicle was seized. It also turned out that the man did not have a driving license.
