Eustacchio is back
Graz’s former deputy mayor celebrates a comeback
Two and a half years after his resignation as the blue deputy mayor of the provincial capital, he is celebrating a comeback: Mario Eustacchio, who resigned after the FPÖ financial scandal, is returning to the Graz municipal council.
It had been quiet around him for two and a half years, Mario Eustacchio, then FPÖ leader and deputy mayor of Graz, had retired from political life into the private sector. Next week, however, he will return to the municipal council, as he announced in an interview with the "Grazer" newspaper. How did this come about? Roland Lohr, formerly also a member of the FPÖ and now a "wild" local councillor, is resigning his seat and Eustacchio has been offered the position. However, he no longer wants to go back to the FPÖ and remains, as he says, a non-party "solo campaigner".
