Faistenau residents collect for “fighter” Magdalena
Little Magdalena has had to fight since her birth in May 2020: she was born three weeks prematurely with several complex malformations and an open back. Her hometown of Faistenau has now collected 22,222.22 euros in donations to support "the great fighter".
These are touching words that reached the "Krone": "The fate of the family touches many people in Faistenau," says the letter about the "great fighter". A whole village stands behind little Magdalena and supports her as she grows up. Due to the deformities, "Magdalena has spent a lot of time in hospital since her birth and is dependent on operations and therapies", writes Walli Ablinger-Ebner from Faistenau, who, together with Bettina Walkner, was able to reach a total of 11 associations, several companies and private individuals for the charity campaign.
"At the closing party of the winter sports section of USC Faistenau, a sum of 22,222.22 euros was handed over to Magdalena's family," it continues. Magdalena's father Bernhard is also a coach at USC Faistenau, the local soccer club. In any case, there was great joy at the support: "It was an afternoon that showed that great and good things can be achieved through community, cohesion and the commitment of many institutions."
