Two new coaches! ÖSV initiates RTL shake-up
The Austrian Ski Association has made new appointments to the two giant slalom World Cup groups in the Alpine skiing camp. Following the departure of Michael Pircher to Lucas Braathen's Brazilian team, Wolfgang Auderer (most recently Swiss Ski) has taken over the men's WC4. For the women, Christian Perner (most recently European Cup men/ÖSV) is now responsible as WC3 coach. He succeeds Karlheinz Pichler, who has moved to Germany.
As the ÖSV also announced on Tuesday, Harald Kirchmair will take over from Jürgen Kriechbaum as head of young talent; he was most recently managing director and sports director of the Neustift Ski Middle School. "Harald has extensive experience in the junior sector, is a very prudent coach and has a lot of know-how in the organizational area," Herbert Mandl, Sporting Director Alpine Skiing, is quoted as saying in the press release.
Four World Cup and two European Cup groups
The ÖSV also announced that there will be four World Cup groups and two European Cup groups for both men and women in the 2024/25 season.
