Moped rider falls ten meters into the ground

Serious traffic accident on Friday evening in Zwettl (Lower Austria). A moped rider lost control of his two-wheeler after a bend and plunged ten meters down an embankment.

At around 8 p.m., the firefighters from the Zwettl fire department were alerted to a serious accident involving a two-wheeler. A moped rider lost control of his vehicle after a bend and broke through a railing. He fell around ten meters down an embankment. A tree slowed down the falling moped and the rider was thrown several meters further down.

The paramedics immediately treated the injured man. Meanwhile, the fire department secured the two-wheeler to prevent it from falling onto the driver. The man was transported to St. Pölten University Hospital by rescue helicopter.
