Watch out! Large hole gapes on road in Carinthia

Drivers must have been amazed: Presumably on Thursday, the asphalt on the Waidischer Landesstraße gave way and left a gaping hole.

The hole on the road, which is located right at the entrance to the village of Waidisch near the forester's lodge, looks unusually large and deep. "This kind of thing happens on this road all the time," explains Thomas Unterüberbacher from the Klagenfurt Road Construction Office. The area had probably been washed out by the stream, according to the Rosental road maintenance department.

It is not entirely clear when exactly the hole in the ground was created: "But as it is a busy road, we assume that it must have happened yesterday," says Unterüberbacher. The site has been secured and cordoned off: "But the road is still passable!"

The hole now needs to be inspected and then repaired. It is not yet clear how long this will take. However, there is no danger.
