PAOK Thessaloniki suffered an away defeat in the Conference League without Thomas Murg, who was ill, and with Stefan Schwab coming on as a substitute (from 72').

The Greek league leaders lost 1:0 (0:1) at Club Brugge. Brugge striker Thiago was denied a penalty in the 78th minute by goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski, who had committed a foul in the penalty area.

Aston Villa secured the only English success of the evening with a 2:1 (1:0) home win over OSC Lille.
