After an accident: drunk driver slept off his intoxication
On Wednesday morning, police officers in St. Pölten discovered an intoxicated 37-year-old man asleep in his small truck after he had caused a traffic accident.
It was a strange scene that took place in St. Pölten at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. Police officers discovered a badly damaged small truck in a parking bay in the Völklplatz area of the city. The entire right side of the vehicle and the right front wheel were badly demolished. In addition, the car involved in the accident had been lifted with a jack and the wheel nut wrench was still attached.
Discovered asleep in the car
A 37-year-old man from the Mistelbach district was in the driver's seat. He had probably been sleeping off his intoxication. A breathalyzer test was positive.
According to the police, the driver involved in the accident may have driven from Schießstattring into Hötzendorfstraße, turned around there and reversed the small truck against the one-way direction. A road stud is said to have been damaged in an underpass.
Charges filed
The 37-year-old's driver's license was temporarily confiscated. He will be reported to the competent district administrative authority for numerous administrative offenses.
