MA48 reacts
Dumpster simply dumps garbage in front of trendy bar
This employee of Vienna's MA48 department must have misunderstood his job. Because instead of taking the garbage with him, he simply dumps it deliberately and deliberately in front of a bar! He has now been exposed by a video. The bar owner is furious. In the meantime, the municipal department has also reacted - and is addressing the restaurateur with a gift.
Vienna is one of the cleanest cities in the world and is consistently at the top of international rankings for quality of life. The approximately 1000 employees of MA48 also contribute to this by ensuring that waste bins and ash pipes are emptied regularly and that the streets are clean.
Not for the first time
But this is unlikely to be the case at Salzgries number 4 in the city center. According to the owner, the popular trendy Fashion TV Club Vienna has been littered several times in the past. Now it turns out who is behind it. An employee of the MA48!
As footage from a video camera shows, the entrance area of the bar was deliberately littered at around 2 a.m. on Monday night. First you can see the litter bin sweeping up the coarse garbage from the street, only to eagerly scatter the cigarette butts in front of the entrance to the bar a short time later. The pub is only open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and was closed at the time the picture was taken.
Club owner is shocked
Club owner Yasha-Reza Afdasta is stunned in an interview with the "Krone" newspaper: "This is downright cheeky! I always thought it was teenagers having fun." When he discovered the MA48 man on the video footage, he was left speechless.
"I don't understand this. We've never had any problems with waste disposal. On the contrary. When the employees were out and about, they even always got free drinks from us." In any case, Afdasta has already contacted his lawyer and now wants to take legal action. By the way: If you dispose of your cigarette improperly on the floor and are caught by a WasteWatcher, you will be fined 50 euros, in serious cases even up to 90 euros.
MA48 wants to apologize and provides free ashtrays
When asked about the piquant matter, MA48 said that it was obviously a case of misconduct on the part of one of our employees and that there was nothing to gloss over.
"We will have a discussion with the street cleaning employee on Thursday (as soon as possible) - and then take appropriate measures. We will also contact the restaurant operator, apologize and provide a free ashtray for the entrance area of his restaurant," said the MA48 spokesperson.
