Accident at a junction: car crashed into traffic lights

A serious accident on Tuesday morning in Klagenfurt: two cars collided head-on at a junction - while the two drivers escaped lightly, a traffic light was badly damaged.

In the middle of the intersection of Völkermarkter Straße and Rosenbergstraße, a misunderstanding between two drivers (18 and 20 years old) when turning led to a head-on crash with lasting consequences - at least for the traffic lights there, the other road users and the two cars involved in the accident. One of the vehicles was thrown with full force against the lights during the violent collision.

The drivers were slightly injured
And so the lights suddenly went out - and most of the early morning traffic came to a standstill while the badly damaged vehicles were recovered. The two drivers survived the head-on collision with minor injuries and went to hospital on their own. Their cars were both totaled.
