Doctor defends herself against “false information”

Doctor from Krems terminated her contract with the Austrian Health Insurance Fund, but keeps the "small ones". Now she has identified a negative campaign.

Together with her husband Ferdinand, Julia Hannreich runs a small, fine medical practice in the Hollenburg district of Krems. There is a family atmosphere. People know each other, they appreciate each other and those who come are seen quickly, but as Krone readers know, the practice is not only concerned about its patients, but also about healthcare in general.

More time for patients
"The patient and the doctor want to have more time for each other. The main problem is the therapeutic conversation, because this is simply important to people, but there is hardly any time left for it. The logical consequence is that people then migrate to elective doctors. If they can afford it," explains Ferdinand Hannreich in an interview with the "Krone" newspaper. Now, however, a press release from the city that has been unquestioningly adopted by the regional media has angered the doctor. "After general practitioner Dr. Julia Hannreich will only be running her practice in the Hollenburg community center on an elective basis from April, Dr. Judith Vanek will also be opening a health insurance practice in the community center on 2 April," it reads verbatim.

"Small cash registers" welcome
 "That's simply not true!" says the doctor. She still has all the so-called small health insurance funds, so patients who are insured with the BVA or SVS, for example, still don't have to pay anything. But that's not all. The same report also states that she "surprisingly terminated" her ÖGK contract. The doctor does not want to accept this either. She had already started informing her patients at the beginning of December.
