Cyclist wanted
Pedestrian stepped out from behind bus: hit by bike
Police in Innsbruck are currently looking for a cyclist who hit a pedestrian who stepped out onto the road in front of a bus on Friday afternoon. By the time the incident was over, the condition of the man (39) had deteriorated and he had to be taken to hospital.
The 39-year-old wanted to cross the road in front of a stopped bus at the Museumstraße stop at around 4.25 p.m. on Friday. But just as he stepped onto the road, a cyclist came from the left and collided with the pedestrian, who then fell.
The Turkish man initially went to his workplace anyway. However, he felt sick there, whereupon he was first treated by the ambulance and taken to hospital.
Police appeal for witnesses
The cyclist left the scene of the accident without giving his details. The police are therefore now looking for witnesses or the unknown cyclist himself. He is asked to contact the Innsbruck traffic inspection (059133/7591).
