There were frequent crashes on Carinthia’s roads on Friday

A head-on crash, an unfortunate overtaking maneuver and carelessness when turning led to rescue operations at lunchtime and in the afternoon.

At around 12.00 noon, there was a crash on Packer Straße at kilometer 127: "A small truck veered onto the left-hand side of the road and collided head-on with an oncoming car," the police report. Both the 57-year-old driver of the small truck and the 74-year-old driver of the car were so badly injured in the crash that they had to be taken to Klagenfurt Hospital after first aid.

Car overlooked
Carelessness was the undoing of a young female moped rider in Greuth at around 2.30 pm. "The 15-year-old wanted to turn, but overlooked a car coming from the left, which led to a collision," is how the police describe the course of the accident. The 15-year-old was transported to Klagenfurt Hospital.

Crash while overtaking
The next accident then occurred in Villach-Bogenfeld at around 5.15 pm. "When a 32-year-old man from Villach wanted to turn left into a road with his small truck and trailer, a motorcyclist behind him started to overtake," said the police. "This resulted in a side collision between the vehicles and the 20-year-old woman from Villach crashed. She skidded several meters across the asphalt." She received initial medical treatment at the scene and was then taken to Villach Regional Hospital.
