Caps in upheaval – Dolezal new sporting director

The Vienna Capitals are undergoing a major shake-up! 

As the Viennese ice hockey club announced on Friday, Christian Dolezal is to become the new sporting director of the two-time champions. The 38-year-old Viennese will be responsible for the entire spectrum from junior players to the academy to the professional squad and is to reorganize the capital city club.

Franz Kalla to serve as vice president
Franz Kalla is leaving his position as General Manager after 16 years. The 57-year-old will advise the Capitals as Vice President.

Dolezal had taken over the Viennese team, which missed the playoffs in eleventh place this year, as interim coach during the season. He is now to look for a new head coach. The position of club president is also vacant at the Caps following the retirement of Hans Schmid.
