Frustration at Brünker: “Can we please stop?”

The dream is over. 1. FC Saarbrücken were beaten 2-0 by Kaiserslautern in the semi-final of the DFB Cup on Tuesday. Kai Brünker's frustration was correspondingly great when he wanted to stop the interview after the match. 

In the 42nd minute, the striker had the best chance to make it 1:0 with a header. Who knows what direction the game would have taken if the third division side had taken the lead ... However, they failed to score and instead Marlon Ritter (53) and Almamy Touré (75) ensured Kaiserslautern's place in the final. 

"We did well and then put the ball in ourselves somewhere. If I scored the goal, it would of course be outstanding. I'm kind of lost for words right now. I'm extremely proud of the team that we've made it this far. But at the moment, the disappointment prevails," Brünker told Sky. 

Kaiserslautern "more ripped off"
When asked about the scene when the referee handed out four yellow cards in the 77th minute, the 29-year-old said: "In that situation, the Lautern player was clever. Also the one or other situation when they were on the floor. They're just ripped off." To then hand over the microphone: "Of course, that's not so good for us. Nevertheless ... Can we please stop? I really, really need to ..."
