Taxenbach: Farm in flames
Major operation for 15 Pinzgau fire departments! On Tuesday evening, the farm building of a farm in Taxenbach caught fire. The building burned to the ground. The highest warning level was declared.
No respite for the Taxenbach fire department! The men had to respond to a major fire on a farm on the Taxberg on Tuesday evening - just a few hours after they were called out to a fatal accident on the Pinzgau main road.
The farmer of the Oberhasenberghof farm noticed the fire in the farm building at around 7 pm. He immediately raised the alarm and brought his cows outside. 14 other fire departments moved out to support their Taxenbach colleagues. The farm is located 1150 meters above sea level - accessible only via a narrow road. "The lack of water on site was a problem, every minute counted," says Klaus Portenkirchner, head of the Pinzgau fire department. The approximately 200 firefighters had to lay a three-kilometer hose line.
The farm building burned down completely. Portenkirchner: "A few minutes later and the residential building would have been lost too."
