Health insurance fund invites you to preventive check-ups again
The Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) sent out a reminder on Tuesday about the free preventive check-ups. It will soon be sending out more than 400,000 invitations to insured persons who have never had a health check-up or have not had one for some time.
"Health risks, for example for a stroke, can be detected and reduced during a check-up," says Andreas Krauter, head physician at ÖGK, in a press release. The earlier a disease is detected, the better and more gently it can be treated. "Take the time for this important check-up."
Recommended every two to three years
All insured persons over the age of 18 can have a check-up once a year free of charge. It can be carried out at all doctors who have a corresponding contract, as well as at ÖGK health centers. The check is recommended for people under 40 at least every three years and every two years for those over 40.
Interested parties can find information on the health insurance company's website and in the "My ÖGK" app. A free service line (0800 501 522) is also available from Monday to Friday (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.). You should take your e-card with you, and some doctors also offer to check your vaccination record.
