"The first team is always the favorite. The second favorite is Arsenal, we are the third," Man City coach Pep Guardiola summed it up after the 0-0 draw against Arsenal. Liverpool's Jürgen Klopp simply wants to "enjoy".
"If we enjoy the whole thing together, then we have a chance," explained the German, who will retire in the summer after nine years with the Reds. "If not, then we still have a chance, but it will be much more difficult." Nervousness should not play an overpowering role, he said, adding that his team is equipped for it. "We were more nervous years ago. That was a long time ago, but it's something we've developed over time."
Shaky win against Brighton
Klopp's side were the winners of the weekend with a 2-1 win over Brighton, but all eyes were on the clash between the Citizens and the Gunners. Arsenal showed impressively that they are not only good at attacking, but also at defending. Manchester City failed to score for the first time in 58 home games in all competitions.
For Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta, however, none of this changed one thing. "In my opinion, they are by far the best team in the world," said Guardiola's former assistant about City, showering his former boss and fellow Spaniard with roses. "They have by far the best coach in the world."
