Game turned around! Austria Salzburg narrowly beat Bischofshofen 2:1 thanks to a late goal. Yannic Fötschl and Gavrilo Fonjga gave the Violets cause for celebration. Grünau scored the golden goal against Hohenems through Nika. In the Salzburg League, Anif managed to catch up with Thalgau.

Bad start, good end! Austria Salzburg win 2-1 at Bischofshofen after trailing 1-0 and extend their lead in the Regionalliga West. Mo Khalil (15') gave the home side an early boost and dealt Austria a bitter blow. "An incredible shot," said coach Adonis Spica in amazement. But what did the Violets do? They didn't let themselves get rattled and struck back ten minutes later in the person of the quick-as-an-arrow Yannic Fötschl. From then on, the game breezed along on a less than ideal pitch, with the 800 spectators hardly seeing any action worth mentioning.

The Pongau side brought on Marat Zlibanovic in the second half. However, he was sent off prematurely a short time later after receiving two yellow cards in the space of three minutes (81st and 84th). The 90th minute had almost begun when Gavrilo Fonjga gave the Violets fans something to cheer about. "It was close, but we knew beforehand that it would be difficult," said coach Christian Schaider, happy to take the three points. After the defeat in the first spring game, his team seems to be back to its old form. "If we put in performances like this, we will win games. Last week's win was important for our confidence." BSK will have to do a lot of motivational training in the training week before the Pongau derby against St. Johann: "If you concede a goal in the 90th minute, you have to find the motivation again."

Wals-Grünau is the team of the moment
Thanks to their success, the Austrians are now four points ahead of Pinzgau again. This is because Hohenems failed to score in the parallel match at Wals-Grünau. The team from Flachgau continued their run of success with the 1:0 win, winning their third game of the spring. "In terms of the team performance, it was the best performance. We did really well again from the very first minute. You can say it was another improvement," said a happy coach Christoph Knaus. "That's a run we've been on. If we don't let up a millimeter, it can continue." Possibly also next Saturday, when the Salzburg derby takes place in Maxglan. Knaus can also count on his life insurance Petrit Nika for the clash between the league leaders and the team of the moment: "I'm incredibly happy for him." The Freilassinger scored his third goal in the second game. "It has a lot to do with the coach. If he gives you confidence and shows you that, you play completely differently as a player," said the golden goalscorer (17th).

Anif secure fourth win of the season
After a sleepy start, Salzburg's second-to-last team in the league got back on track in their only Saturday game in Thalgau. Coach Berktold switched to a back three and brought on Moser. He scored the late winning goal to make it 3:2, giving the team confidence ahead of Monday's regional cup quarter-final at home against St. Johann. The relegation battle has been reopened. "When I asked who wanted to play, everyone showed up. Now we're looking forward to the cup," beamed Berktold. The goals for the home side were scored by Mrkonjic (12) and Muminovic (52). Mühlbauer (45), Memic (62) and Moser (82) scored for the visitors.
