Police officers rescue young cat at the airport

Two officers from Schwechat City Police Department discovered a cat wandering around helplessly while patrolling the airport grounds on Wednesday. The foundling is now being cared for at the animal shelter.

A young cat was discovered on the airport grounds on Wednesday by Alexander and Niklas from the Schwechat municipal police. The little velvet paw ran along the fence on the apron and tried in vain to get past the barrier. It finally sought shelter under the parked patrol car and hid in the wheel arch.

Animal-friendly operation
The animal-loving police officers managed to get the frightened cat out of its hiding place. The foundling, who was around eight months old, was then examined by the airport's veterinary service. 

The courageous rescuers personally took the cat to the animal shelter in Bruck an der Leitha, where it is now being cared for.
