Happy ski hero
Olympic champion: baby arrives shortly after retirement
Giuliano Razzoli is happy with his baby! On Monday, the Italian, who ended his skiing career a few weeks ago, and his wife Elisa became parents for the first time.
At 9.55 am, their son Emanuele saw the light of day. "An infinite joy, a unique love," wrote Razzoli on social media.
Cancellation put an end to his career
Razzoli actually wanted to compete in one last World Cup race in Kranjska Gora at the beginning of March. But the weather threw a spanner in the works. Extremely heavy rain completely destroyed the course and the race in Slovenia was canceled. The cancellation put an immediate end to the 39-year-old Italian's career.
He had made himself immortal in his home country 14 years ago: Razzoli won the gold medal in the slalom at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. In addition to the Olympic triumph, he also won two World Cups (Zagreb 2010, Lenzerheide 2011) and a total of eleven podium places. Now he can devote himself fully to his family.
