Serious traffic accident on the Tauernautobahn

On Monday morning, there was a serious traffic accident between a truck and a car on the Tauern highway in Carinthia. A 52-year-old Serbian man was killed and his compatriot suffered serious injuries in the crash. 

The serious accident occurred on Monday morning on the Tauernautobahn near Feistritz. "We suspect that the car had broken down and was therefore parked on the hard shoulder. The truck driver rear-ended the vehicle," according to the provincial police headquarters. The 46-year-old car driver was seriously injured and flown to Klagenfurt Hospital. His 52-year-old passenger died at the scene of the accident. 

Accident victim in shock
"The truck driver was taken to Spittal Hospital with minor injuries. He is in shock," said a police officer. The 52-Romanian was able to leave the hospital again after outpatient treatment.

The exact circumstances of the accident are still being investigated by the police.
