Huber's crazy air show
“I don’t know what happened myself right now”
"I don't even know what happened today." Daniel Huber could hardly believe it himself. With a crazy flight show on Sunday in Planica, the ÖSV eagle, who first jumped 247 meters and then 242.5 meters, not only took the day's victory, but also the small globe for the Ski Flying World Cup.
"I knew exactly what I had to do, but I was already brutally nervous because I knew there was a lot at stake," said Huber himself in the ORF interview. "Funnily enough, I even got a little nervous in the second flight because I realized that I could really win it now. Two such great flights today - unbelievable."
Huber won the ski flying crystal globe with just three points ahead of Kraft. "He said to me beforehand that I was the only one allowed to take a globe from him," he joked.
Praise from Widhölzl
"The way he knocked it down - hats off. He took it into another league," said head coach Andreas Widhölzl.
