Slovakia coach:

“Austria will be the surprise of the European Championship!”

The coach of the Slovakian national soccer team has praised the ÖFB team after the 2-0 test match defeat on Saturday. Ralf Rangnick's team has what it takes to be the surprise at the upcoming EURO. Captain Marcel Sabitzer, on the other hand, was not entirely satisfied.

Francesco Calzona (Slovakia coach): "We did the maximum, we played against a very strong opponent. I thanked the players and they said that a few years ago we would have lost more clearly against such an opponent. Austria have a strong team, I think they will be the surprise of the European Championship."

Marcel Sabitzer (ÖFB captain): "It wasn't a commanding win. We played sloppily, especially in the first half, were technically very sloppy and invited them to counter-attack. Fortunately, we were able to defend that away, but you can't afford to do that in a few months' time. We're happy with the win, but it could have been better."
