Belgian fashion designer Dries Van Noten calls it quits

After an unprecedented career at the helm of his eponymous fashion label, Belgian designer Dries van Noten is stepping down at the end of June 2024.

The 65-year-old plans to take this step after completing his latest menswear collection, as he announced on Instagram and Facebook on Tuesday.

"Time to make room"
The search for a successor has already begun. Van Noten wrote that "it's time to make room for a new generation of talent".

"New chapter"
In his emotional message, the designer looks back on his journey and writes: "In the early 80s, as a young man from Antwerp, I dreamed of having a voice in the fashion industry. This dream came true, thanks to my passion and the support of countless people. Now I want to focus on new chapters in my life."

From now on, Van Noten wants to focus on all the things he hasn't had time for since founding the fashion house 38 years ago. Nevertheless, the 65-year-old wants to remain involved with his company - he left it open as to how exactly.
